A few words about the climatology of tropical cyclones

What is the most dangerous area in the world for a sailor?

hurricane-1

An average of 100 tropical storms form worldwide each year. About 70 of these develop into tropical cyclones. The most dangerous region worldwide is the Northwest Pacific Ocean, where 30% of all tropical storms are concentrated, followed by the Northeast Pacific with 15%, the North Atlantic, Southwest Pacific and Indian Oceans with 12% each, and Northwest Australia with 7%.

If we focus only on tropical cyclones, the most dangerous region is again the Northwest Pacific with 25.3 tropical cyclones per year and the Northeast Pacific with 15.2 tropical cyclones per year. The corresponding figure for the North Atlantic is 9.4 per year. In other words, in a decade in the North Atlantic an average of 94 tropical cyclones develop, while in the entire North Pacific 405!!

New Page – New Beginning – New Educational Programs

sunrise-photosFour years have passed since the beginning of our educational journey and the creation of the MeteoMarine web portal. A journey of knowledge and creation that was embraced by all our sailors as well as ordinary people who love the sea and weather phenomena. Starting with a seminar for professional sailors and another for the Greek Seas, today we have now created a complete series of five different seminars, aimed at professional sailors and three seminars aimed at individuals.

The new training period begins with two new seminars for individuals entitled "Agricultural Meteorology" and "Summary Meteorology". In parallel with our new meteorology training program for children, we give the opportunity to little "weather lovers" to learn from an early age all the magical aspects of complex meteorological phenomena in a pleasant and entertaining way.

However, we also have a significant update on our website with a new layout, new features, services and easy-to-use navigation. With our new service EasyMeteo® You have the ability to have reliable forecasts and suggested routes, wherever you travel, always with safety and economy in mind.

Also through the "knowledge files» you can read useful information about the weather and receiving information on the ship.

Thank you for the recognition!

We wish everyone a creative educational year!
