In her seminars MeteoMarine they teach ONLY professional meteorologists with studies in the physics or mathematics department and postgraduate studies in recognized postgraduate meteorology programs.

The main speaker of the seminars is Dr. Nikos Mazarakis, who began his professional career as a meteorologist in 2000, after completing his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Physics department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, while in 2010 he was awarded a doctorate in meteorology from the Department of Physics of the University of Patras.

From October 2004 to May 2016, he collaborated with the popular website www.meteo.gr, which belongs to National Observatory of Athens, as the operational manager of the WAM wave model and the EUMETSAT satellite image processing programs. At the same time, he was a key member of the team that developed the largest network of automatic meteorological stations in the Greek territory, while he has several participations in international conferences and publications in prestigious scientific journals. In February 2014, he created the meteorology educational program of the National Observatory of Athens entitled “Children Rain”.

In April 2017, he founded the Greek office of the weather company StormGeo Greece, part of Alfa Laval Group which is the largest weather and ship management company in the world. As General Office Manager he gained vast experience in the field of commercial management of a ship while handling dozens of claims cases successfully. The office recorded remarkable growth, over 800%, with dozens of shipping companies and ships using StormGeo's weather routing optimization systems.

Regarding his teaching experience, he has been teaching Marine Meteorology since 2003. More specifically, he served as a professor at the Merchant Marine Executive Training Center (KESEN) for 7 years (2003-2006 & 2010 – 2014). Since 2010, he has been organizing seminars either online or in person at shipping companies. He has trained thousands of seafarers in Greece and abroad, while collaborating with the largest Greek Shipping companies. The Meteorology seminars have received great distinctions and have also been taught at the Hellenic Association for the Protection of the Marine Environment (HELMEPA).

Dr. Nikos Mazarakis is also a visiting professor at MBA in Maritime and Shipping Management of Uninettuno University.

In education, he has also worked as a professor at the OAED TEE and public IEKs, with over 7000 hours of teaching to his credit.

At the same time, from 2002 to 2011, he collaborated as a meteorologist in a number of media outlets such as Mega Channel, AlphaTV, Channel 9, FlashRadio, AlphaRadio, Palmos Thessaloniki, while for several years he wrote articles in newspapers Free Press, Veto, Democracy and Step and in the magazine Vessel. 

He has given dozens of lectures on meteorology and interviews on television media, while periodically writing articles in Nautical Chronicles.

Also basic coefficient of MeteoMarine is also Giota Angeli MSc Physicist – Meteorologist. Giota Angeli studied Physics at Department of Physics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, while she subsequently successfully completed her postgraduate specialization in Meteorology at Department of Environmental Physics and Meteorology at the same university. Since then, she has been working as a Physics - Chemistry teacher to secondary school students, while she has also worked in middle school tutoring in the past. Panagiota Angeli has rich educational experience and provides educational support to all our seminars.
