The two-day seminar will be held on Monday and Tuesday, January 22 & 23, 2018. Modern Nautical Meteorology. which is approved from Lloyds in frameworks of its certification DANAOS Assessment and Training Center, while at the same time it has also been included in HELMEPA's training program for the year 2018. All participants who wish will be given the popular weather navigation program completely free of charge. Bon Voyage System for trial use for 4-6 months!!

Meteorology seminar at HELMEPA

Marine Meteorology – Handling Ships in Heavy Weather
and Following/Quartering seas

January 11 & 12, 2018

The seminar includes 7 hours of presentations and 7 hours of practical application in the simulator, with the aim of renewing and enriching their knowledge on the basic topics of modern maritime meteorology with emphasis on the use of e-mail to receive official meteorological forecasts and GRIB files, the correct way to read them and their optimal import and display in ECDIS. Also on the formation of tropical storms and cyclones and ways to avoid their dangerous area. It also includes best practices for preparing the ship and the bridge in view of approaching areas with extremely bad weather conditions and the optimal handling of the ship in high wave conditions with emphasis on stern or from the power, (second stern) waves. Nautical Meteorology Seminar at the National Meteorological Service of Attica

On Tuesday, December 19, 2017, it was held at the premises of Greek Rescue Team of Attica seminar on Marine Meteorology. The seminar was presented by Dr. Nikos Mazarakis. The participants had the opportunity to learn: (1) the modern way in which weather forecasts are made nowadays, (2) the way in which we can make a forecast for wind and rain, (3) the way in which they can learn the current weather conditions in the business environment and (4) how storm clouds are recognized, how we can protect ourselves from lightning and how we can monitor the development of storms. We would like to thank the EOD Attica for their invitation, its members for the interest they showed during the seminar, and we wish the members good strength in their important and always voluntary effort.
