The two-day meteorology seminar for executives of the German company was held with complete success ENERCON in Glyka Nera on November 18 & 19, 2015. The ENERCON is one of the leading companies in the construction of wind turbines. The seminar focused mainly on the weather conditions prevailing in our country and on weather forecasting. Thus, the company's executives were trained on how to make a weather forecast, utilizing all the reliable sources available, while at the same time a detailed report was made on how the forecast is made. Nautical Meteorology Seminar in Syros – OFTSS

Την Κυριακή 25 Οκτωβρίου 2015 η MeteoMarine βρέθηκε στο όμορφο νησί της Σύρου έπειτα από την πρόσκληση του ομίλου φουσκωτών και ταχύπλοων σκαφών Σύρου. Στα πλαίσια της φιλοξενίας μας στο νησί, διοργανώθηκε το Α΄ μέρος του σεμιναρίου μας με τίτλο “Ναυτική Μετεωρολογία για τις Ελληνικές Θάλασσες” με εισηγητή το Δρ. Νίκο Μαζαράκη. Το σεμινάριο παρακολούθησαν πάνω από 30 άτομα, μέλη του ομίλου. Θα θέλαμε να ευχαριστήσουμε θερμά τον όμιλο για την ευγενική πρόσκληση και φιλοξενία.

Seminar Description

The Marine Meteorology seminar entitled Modern Marine Meteorology (Level I) trains participants in the basic principles of modern Marine Meteorology, having as main subjects learning how to read and understand the meteorological surface charts that are published daily by the largest meteorological services in the world, which deal with the weather forecasting in the Oceans. These services are the American Meteorological Service (NOAA/OPC), the Japanese (JMA) and the English (Metoffice). Also, the most modern techniques of safe course planning (weatherrouting) are taught with the aim of avoiding dangerous barometric systems and tropical cyclones. The seminar also makes special reference to waves (wind waves and swell).

Target Audience

The seminar is aimed at bridge officers of ocean-going ships, of any rank, as well as office executives of shipping companies. (more…)
