MeteoMarine seminars are being taught ONLY by professional meteorologists with studies in the physical or mathematical department and postgraduate studies in recognized meteorological postgraduate courses.

 

The keynote speaker of the seminars is Dr. Nikos Mazarakis who started his professional career as a meteorologist in 2000, after f completing his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Department of Physics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, while in 2010 he was awarded a doctorate in meteorology from the Department of Physics of the University.

 

From October 2004 to May 2016, he collaborated with the popular website www.meteo.gr, which belongs to the National Observatory of Athens, as the head of the operation of the WAM wave model and EUMETSAT satellite image processing programs. At the same time he was a key member of the team that in recent years has developed the largest network of automatic meteorological stations in Greece, also he has several participations in international conferences and publications in prestigious scientific journals. Since February 2014, he has created and presents the meteorological training program of the National Observatory of Athens entitled “Ta paidia vrexei”.

 

Since April 2017, he has been the headmaster of the Greek office of StormGeo, which is the largest weather and ship management company in the world, while he is also a visiting professor at the MBA in Maritime and Shipping Management of Uninettuno University.

 

From 2003 to July 2014, he taught the course of Marine Meteorology at the Merchant Marine Staff Training Center (KESEN). His contribution in education was working as a teacher in the TEE of OAED and in the public IEK, having in his assets more than 6000 teaching hours.

 

In recent years, through MeteoMarine, he organizes Meteorology seminars in large companies, mainly in the shipping sector, but also privately in modern rooms or hotels. The seminars are held in Greece and abroad.

 

Also, our seminars aimed at professional sailors were selected by the Hellenic Association for the Protection of the Marine Environment (HELMEPA) to be included in the annual training program of the association for 2016 and 2017, with Dr. Nikos Mazarakis.
