The seminar includes 7 hours of presentations and 7 hours of practical application in the simulator, with the aim of renewing and enriching their knowledge on the basic topics of modern maritime meteorology with emphasis on the use of e-mail to receive official meteorological forecasts and GRIB files, the correct way to read them and their optimal import and display in ECDIS. Also on the formation of tropical storms and cyclones and ways to avoid their dangerous area. It also includes best practices for preparing the ship and the bridge in view of approaching areas with extremely bad weather conditions and the optimal handling of the ship in high wave conditions with emphasis on stern or from the power, (second stern) waves.
