Monday 11 and 18 May 2026, 18.30-20.30

A deep understanding of the atmosphere is essential for accurate weather analysis and forecasting. That's why we are pleased to announce a new live webinar dedicated to one of Meteorology's most valuable tools: the Skew-T chart.

This 4-hour practical webinar is aimed at meteorologists and meteorology students, aviation personnel, air athletes, mountaineers and generally friends of meteorology who wish to enhance their ability in interpreting atmospheric radio waves and in applying them to real-world forecasting.

The presentation will focus on practical use of the Skew-T chart, helping participants understand how to identify atmospheric stability, moisture distribution, inversions, clouds, storm dynamics, wind shear and other important forecast parameters.

Webinar Details

Title: Practical Use of the Skew-T Chart
Date: Monday, May 11 and 18, 2026
Time: 18:30 – 20:30
Platform: Zoom

What will the webinar include?

Participants will learn how to:

  • read and understand the structure of the Skew-T chart,
  • recognize basic thermodynamic levels and parameters,
  • assess atmospheric stability and humidity profiles,
  • detect signs of cloud and storm development,
  • interpret wind changes with height for operational forecasting,
  • apply Skew-T analysis through practical examples.

The webinar is designed to offer a clear and operational approach to the interpretation of radio waves, with an emphasis on practical application in forecasting and not just theory.

Cost

The participation cost is €40. This price includes the notes in electronic format (pdf), the recording of the entire course on video and the electronic certificate of participation.

Registrations

To register, fill out the registration form you will find here. For more information get in touch with us.

The seminar will be conducted using the educational platform Zoom. After paying for your participation, you will be sent a link and detailed instructions to log in and watch the webinar. The course is interactive. This means that the participants are actively involved, expressing their questions but also participating in solving exercises with maps and weather programs.

Reporter

The presenter of the seminars is Dr. Nikos MazarakisDr. Nikos Mazarakis is Professor of Marine Meteorology, Visiting Professor at Uninettuno University/Institute for International Maritime Studies and General Manager of the Greek Office of the weather company STORMGEO. He has thousands of hours of teaching experience in the field of Marine Meteorology, while in the past he has collaborated with the National Observatory of Athens, the Merchant Marine Executive Training Center (KESEN) and major Athenian newspapers, radio and television stations. He organizes seminars in companies and groups, while he has given dozens of lectures in Greece, Cyprus, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Egypt, on the subject of marine meteorology.
