Knowledge that is immediately applicable and will give them the necessary knowledge and confidence to deal with the complex weather that prevails in the Greek seas. This seminar not only covers theoretical knowledge but also gives practical examples and reveals to participants the secrets of safe weather forecasting. No mathematical or meteorological knowledge is required for participation, only basic internet browsing skills. The seminar, which began teaching in November 2011, has already been loved by the Greek Maritime community.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Desired knowledge<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Upon completion of the seminar, participants will know:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>how wind is created and why forecasts often differ from reality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>how wind interacts with the ground near coastal areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>especially for sailors, what are the areas where we can take advantage of the topography to gain more wind?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>How are meltemias created and how can I know when there will be a ban?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>How can we predict rain?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>What are the practical signs that warn us of a possible change in weather?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>What are cold and warm fronts and what weather do they cause?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>What types of weather are affecting our country and what season each type occurs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>How can we recognize storms before they break out and which season is the most dangerous?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>What are Grib Files and how can we get free digital weather maps with a simple email?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>which Internet sources to trust for forecasting and observing the weather in our country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seminar Contents<\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">1st-2nd hour -
